What must Consumers Do to Receive The Discounts? All the consumer has to do is select the promotional item at the shelf and pay for it at the register. It’s that simple.
Is this the actual coupon? No, the shelf tag indicates products for which an
EZ-PIC™ coupon is available.
The seven basic steps describing the implementation and operation of the EZ-PIC™ program are as follows:
Unicous creates contracts with manufacturers to offer Paperless Instant Coupons on their products for specified periods of time. Coupon promotion events occur every calendar month.
Retailers join the EZ-PIC™ retail network and thereby agree to accept the Paperless Instant Coupons funded by these manufacturers.
With assistance from Unicous, retailers modify their Point-of-Sale (POS) systems to store the PIC data and recognize products eligible for Paperless Instant Coupons.
Consumers are made aware of available Paperless Instant Cou-pons via in-store promotional materials, mainly point of sale mater-ial including colorful shelf signage placed on the retailer shelves.
Consumers automatically receive the value of their Paperless Instant Coupons as a reduction of their bill.
Retailers return redeemed coupons electronically to Unicous for reimbursement.
Unicous collects the coupon value from manufacturers and repays that value to the redeeming retailers.
